Are your rugs really handmade ?

Yes, 100%. Every rug in our collection is hand-knotted or hand-woven by skilled female artisans in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. We do not sell machine-made imitations.

Are the rugs clean, or do they need to be cleaned?

Our rugs arrive freshly hand-cleaned by the artisans, and we also clean each rug again in our warehouse before shipping.

Because they’re handmade with natural wool, a light airing or gentle vacuuming after arrival is recommended to keep them looking their best.

What materials are used ?

Our Moroccan rugs are made from 100% natural sheep wool and traditional natural dyes. The wool is carefully selected for its softness, durability, and warmth, ensuring each rug is comfortable, long-lasting, and authentically handmade.

Is the rug I see in the photo the exact one I will receive ?

For our "Ready-to-Ship" collection, yes—the rug in the photo is the unique piece you are buying. For "Custom Orders," your rug will be a recreation of the design, and because it is handmade, slight variations in pattern and color are expected (this is the beauty of a unique artisan piece!).

Can I request a custom size or design ?

Absolutely! We specialize in custom orders. You can choose the dimensions, colors, and patterns. Contact us at contact@teppichmarokko.com to start your custom project.

Care & Maintenance

How do I clean my Moroccan rug?
Regular vacuuming (without a beater bar) is best. For spills, blot immediately with a clean, damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use harsh chemicals. For a deep clean, we recommend professional rug cleaning every 3–5 years.

My rug is shedding is this normal?
Yes, new wool rugs often shed small fibers for the first few weeks. This is normal for high-quality wool and will stop after regular vacuuming and use.

Why does my rug have a slight scent?
Natural wool sometimes has a faint "sheep" scent (lanolin). This is a sign of authenticity. Simply airing the rug out or vacuuming it will make the scent disappear quickly.

Why do handmade rugs sometimes have imperfections ?

Handmade rugs may have small imperfections because they’re crafted by skilled artisans using traditional techniques, not machines.

These slight variations in weave, pattern, or color add character and authenticity, making each rug truly unique and reflecting the human touch behind its creation.

Shipping & Delivery

We offer free express worldwide shipping on all Moroccan rugs. Orders are carefully packaged and shipped directly from Morocco. Delivery typically takes 3–7 business days depending on your location. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a tracking number to follow your delivery.

How long will it take to receive my rug ?

We ship all our rugs with DHL Express to make sure delivery is fast and reliable.

Shipping is free worldwide.

Orders are usually processed and shipped within 24 hours.

Once your order is shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with your DHL tracking number.

Estimated delivery times:

  • Europe: 2-4 business days
  • USA & Canada: 3-5 business days
  • Australia: 4-8 business days
  • Japan: 7-8 business days

Will I have to pay customs duties or taxes ?

Customs duties or import taxes may apply depending on your country’s regulations. These charges are determined by local customs authorities and are the responsibility of the customer.

Returns & Exchanges

We want you to love your rug! If you are not satisfied, you can return your rug within 14 days of delivery. Note: Custom-made rugs are typically non-refundable unless there is a manufacturing defect.

What if my rug arrives damaged ?

Please inspect your package upon arrival. If there is any damage from shipping, contact us immediately with photos so we can resolve it with the carrier and provide a replacement or refund.
